Samian in a new work

In this unmissable and audacious concert, the OSM draws a parallel between the sonorities of Northern Québec and those of Scandinavia. Alexina Louie’s Take the Dog Sled provides a unique opportunity to hear Inuit throat singing, where two women play off each other in a vocal game, enveloped in the sounds of the orchestra. Rounding out the program will be two famous suites, Peer Gynt by Grieg and Lemminkäinen by Sibelius, as well as the world premiere of a collaborative work by Samian and Nicole Lizée, inspired by aboriginal legends.
