THE SCIENCE OF SCIENCE-FICTION

F2_guide_jeunesse_FR.pdf - Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017-04-28 09.16.22

PRESENTATION OF THE CONCERT

Did you ever stop for a moment to consider the science behind sci-fi movies? The essence of this genre is that it is free to push the boundaries of reality through new inventions or imaginary experiences. Amazingly, some of the cinematic creations that seemed so farfetched when the films were made turned out to be within the realm of possibility and were subsequently realized. Join host André Robitaille in an exploration of science-fiction films that left their mark along with their extraordinary symphonic soundtracks. You’ll hear music from 2001: A Space Odyssey, Metropolis, Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Face of Another, and, of course, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Star Wars.
