CEGEP AND UNIVERSITY
OSM YOUTH CONCERTS’ AMBASSADOR
“Since its inception in 1934, under the leadership of Wilfrid Pelletier, the OSM has recognized the importance of youth. Access to classical music and music education can have profound impacts on the development and well-being of children and adolescents—a conviction that we continue to hold and celebrate through our programming specifically designed for young people.”
Art only truly exists in society when people are able to take part in it, actively or passively, right from childhood. For this to happen, we need initiatives in place that aren’t merely intended for the elite. I’m talking about opportunities that guarantee that art and classical music will have a long term presence in the education of children and youth, opportunities that allow every child to be exposed to it, regardless of his or her social status, level of education or parents’ financial situation.”
