The 72nd Edition of the OSM Standard Life Competition, which is to take place on November 23 to 26, 2011, is dedicated to Woodwinds, Brass and Voice.
AN ESSENTIAL SPRINGBOARD FOR YOUNG CANADIAN PERFORMERS
Since its inception in 1940, the OSM Standard Life Competition has served as a springboard for the careers of close to 300 prize-winners, including André Laplante, Angela Hewitt, Louis Lortie, Angela Cheng, Lyne Fortin, Angèle Dubeau, Jean-François Rivest, James Ehnes, Alexandre da Costa, Jan Lisiecki and a number of OSM musicians, among them concertmaster Andrew Wan.
ELIGIBILITY
This national competition is open to young Canadian musicians and landed immigrants.

- cash prizes
- scholarships for Canada's leading summer academies
- a professional audio recording in one of the Radio-Canada studios
- the privilege of playing in concert with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal as well as other institutions throughout Canada
Candidates must submit their complete application form and CD recording not later than Friday, September 30, 2011, postmarked.
