AN ESSENTIAL SPRINGBOARD FOR YOUNG CANADIAN PERFORMERS
Since its inception in 1940, the OSM Standard Life Competition has helped close to 300 prizewinners make a name for themselves, including André Laplante, James Ehnes, Angela Hewitt, Lyne Fortin, Jean-François Rivest, Jonathan Crow, Alexandre Da Costa, Jan Lisiecki and a number of OSM musicians, among them concertmaster Andrew Wan, Stéphane Lévesque, Marianne Dugal and Pierre-Vincent Plante.
ELIGIBILITY
This national competition is open to young Canadian musicians and landed immigrants.

The OSM Standard Life Competition is one of the few Canadian competitions to offer its winners four prize categories:
- cash prizes
- scholarships for Canada's leading summer academies
- a professional audio recording in one of the Radio-Canada studios
- the privilege of playing in concert with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal as well as other institutions throughout Canada
Candidates must submit their complete application form and CD recording not later September 30, 2012, postmarked. If the date falls on a weekend, the deadline moves to the next business day.
