MUSICAL EDUCATION AT THE OSM!
In the heart of our community since more than 75 years

A Word from Kent Nagano

Music education is a long tradition of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. It dates back to the very creation of the Orchestra, 75 years ago, to its first music director, Wilfrid Pelletier, who, newly appointed, presented a series of concerts designed to introduce young listeners to symphonic music. Today, we keep this tradition alive, convinced that music education is still of paramount importance. Our desire is to share our passion for the orchestral repertoire and to reach out to the young generation.

The OSM team and I offer our youth a series of concerts and events designed especially for them, which opens the door to the universe of music and of the orchestra in an appealing and stimulating way.

Come with your enthusiasm, and curiosity; bring your desire for new discoveries and unforgettable experiences. The musicians and I will put our hearts into offering you, your children, and your students the most beautiful music to enjoy.

Kent Nagano

  • Halloween at the osm
To celebrate Halloween, the night when creatures with a taste for evil lurk about, the OSM offers its young listeners (and other daring souls) to cross into another world and encounter the mysterious realm of a weird-looking creature in search of a story to belong to. Set off on a journey of orchestral discovery in this imaginative presentation by Mélanie Delorme (Banzai, Les Invincibles), Éloi Cousineau (Kaboum), and conductor Stéphane Laforest. The program includes Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain and music from John Williams’ Harry Potter film scores.
