A child’s life in the nineteenth century is turned upside down when a “madman” rents the apartment upstairs. At first the child doesn’t quite understand the eccentric composer Ludwig van Beethoven, but he eventually comes to recognize the man’s genius, his anguish over going deaf, and above all the amazing beauty of his music. A Classical Kids production inspired from a Juno award-winning recording that also won an Emmy for its film version.

Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite is our point of departure for a journey into the fascinating world of fairy tales. While Mother Goose prepares to tell the well-known stories of Tom Thumb and Beauty and the Beast, she herself becomes the main character in amazing tales that she invented herself. In music, dance and mime, the show invites the young and the not-so-young to forget daily life and enter the world of dreams.
