2018 OSM MANULIFE COMPETITION PRIZES

THE OSM MANULIFE GRAND PRIZE

A $10,000 Manulife Scholarship
A concert with the OSM, conducted by Mr. David Robertson, on January 16th, 2019, at Maison symphonique de Montréal.
ICI musique Prize: a professional recording in one of Radio-Canada’s studios and its broadcast on ICI Musique.
Orford Musique Prize: a recital at the Orford Arts Center, to be presented during the 2019-2020 season.
National Arts Center Prize: a concert at the NAC as a part of the 2019-2020 season.
Northern Arts and Cultural Centre Prize: a concert at the NACC as a part of the 2019-2020 season.
Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra Prize: a concert as part of the 2019-2020 NSO season.
YOA Orchestra of the Americas Prize: a Concert Tour during the summer of This prize is generously offered by Mr. Réal Plourde and Mrs. Ariane Riou.
Michèle-Paré Prize: a $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to the Grand Prize winner of the 2018 OSM Manulife Competition to support the development of a professional career in music.

THE FIRST PRIZES

A $10,000 Manulife Scholarship, awarded to each one of the three categories (one of them included in the Grand Prize).

THE SECOND PRIZES

Piano, Class A: a $5,000 scholarship offered by the Marjorie & Gerald Bronfman Foundation.

Piano, Class B: a $5,000 scholarship offered by the Paul A. Fournier Foundation.

Harp: a $5,000 V. E. Lambert scholarship, offered by the Lambert-Fortier-Gagnon Succession.

THE THIRD PRIZES

Piano, Class A: a $2,500 V. E. Lambert scholarship, offered by the Lambert-Fortier-Gagnon Succession.

Piano, Class B: the $2,500 Aline-Hector-Perrier, offered by the « Les Amis de l’Arts » Founds and Mrs. Réjean Breton.

Harp: a $2,500, offered by Mrs. Barbara Bronfman.

BEST INTERPRETATION OF A CANADIAN WORK

Piano, Class A: a $2,500 scholarship, offered by the OSM Volunteer Association.

Piano, Class B: a $2,500 scholarship, offered by the OSM Musicians Association.

Harp: a $2,500 scholarship, offered by  Mrs. Juliana Pleines.

PRIX ÉTOILES STINGRAY – CHOIX DU PUBLIC

A $2500 cash prize, offered to the finalist who will get the most votes on the web at Maison Symphonique during the final round.

COMPLIMENTARY PRIZES

The Aspen Music Festival and School Prize: a scholarship for an eight-week program during the summer 2019, including housing and tuition fees, offered thanks to the support of the Ariane Riou & Réal Plourde Foundation.

The Domaine Forget Prix: three scholarships covering tuition and accommodation for one week of advanced training program at Domaine Forget during 2019.

The Centre Banff Prize: three scholarships covering tuition and accommodation for a three-week advanced music program in the Music and Sound Departmenet at the Banff Centre in 2019.

The Schulich School of Music Prize: three scholarships covering complete tuition for a program of performance at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, offered to the first prize winner of each category.

The Orford Musique Prize: three scholarships covering tuition and accommodation for a two-week advanced music program at the Orford Arts Centre, in 2019.
