HOW YOUR DONATIONS USED?

All funds raised in for the Bal des enfants are destined to support the OSM’s missions of education and accessibility. They enable the OSM to continue to develop its future audiences by offering an early introduction to classical music, to implement inclusive projects in the community, especially with those who stand to benefit the most, to support younger generations of local musicians and to offer accessible summer programmation.
OFFERING CHILDREN A MAGICAL DAY
Thanks to your invaluable donation, each year hundreds of disadvantaged and sick children and their families can enjoy the chance to be immersed in the enchanting world of classical music, through free attendance to the Bal des enfants.
DEVELOPING OUR FUTURE AUDIENCE
Each year, some 30,000 young people aged 5 to 17 attend Children’s Corner concerts and School Matinees. Your generosity also enables us to provide tools to classrooms for enhancing the accessibility of classical music (teaching materials, turn-key online concerts, online workshops, pedagogical resources, video capsules, reading lists).
INCLUSIVE PROJECTS IN THE COMMUNITY
Your donation supports around 10 projects that are implemented in collaboration with community organizations serving those most in need, including low-income sectors, children requiring special accommodations, refugee families and newcomers to Quebec.
SUPPORTING LOCAL YOUNG MUSICIANS
Your contribution goes to supporting emerging Quebec and Canadian artists through training, masterclasses, and sponsorship of amateur artists in connection with the OSM’s summer programming. The OSM Competition, Canada’s largest classical music performance competition, provides mentoring and career support to its winners in tandem with its prestigious international jury panels and partners.
FREE SUMMER PROGRAMMING
Your donation also goes to supporting our summer programming, which includes concerts in the parks of Greater Montreal, an outdoor concert at the Olympic Park Esplanade, the Virée classique festival, which draws many tens of thousands each year, as well as 5 days of free performances and activities at Place des Arts and on Sainte-Catherine Street.
