Antoine Malette-Chénier
harpistA creative and groundbreaking harpist, Antoine Malette-Chénier performs the full repertoire ranging from the Renaissance and Baroque, on period instruments, to contemporary music. Described as a “brilliant soloist,” he is Principal Harp of the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières. A much sought-after musician because of his versatility, he has performed in Canada and abroad as a soloist, chamber musician and continuo player with numerous ensembles, including the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Les Voix humaines and Les Violons du Roy. He is the recipient of the 2014 Michael Measures Prize of the Canada Council for the Arts as well as First Prize of the 2013 OSM Competition. A graduate of the Yale School of Music, the Schulich School of Music of McGill University and the Université de Montréal, Antoine also holds a master’s degree in historical harp performance from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse of Lyon, France.
