What if the orchestra hadn’t always existed in its current form? Patrice Bélanger plunges into the heart of the symphony orchestra to explain how orchestral music and instruments have evolved over the centuries. All you have to do is open your ears and eyes wide and let the musicians and the conductor fill you with wonder as they perform works that may just surprise you. From Baroque to contemporary music, this concert invites you to savour the rich timbres, dynamics and emotion that music brings.

The OSM offers high school students the opportunity to attend concerts in the Fondation J.A. DeSève Symphonic Matinees and Express series, as well as our regular evening concerts.

Discover our selection of programs being presented as part of our 2019-2020 season, which will let your students continue discovering and broadening their knowledge of symphonic music and the orchestra.

High school students have the opportunity to take part in a unique musical experience when they attend a Symphonic Matinee series concert. They will marvel at the musicians’ virtuosity, discover different aspects of the symphonic repertoire, and enjoy the ambiance of a regular OSM concert.
