European Tour 2022
In 1962, the OSM travelled to Europe with Maestro Zubin Mehta on its very first international tour. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of this historic event, the Orchestra returns to Europe under the direction of Rafael Payare, touring from October 21 to 28, 2022. For the occasion, the OSM is joined by pianists Víkingur Ólafsson and Bruce Liu, violinist Augustin Hadelich, and the Wiener Singakademie, for 6 concerts in 5 countries with stops in Zagreb, Budapest, Vienna, Brussels, and London. Programs on this tour include Mahler’s Symphony no. 5, Shostakovich’s Symphony no. 10, as well as works by Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Brahms, and the Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer.
