PRIZES

The OSM Grand Prize includes:

A $10,000 Scholarship

A concert with the OSM: conducted by Mr. Matthias Pintscher, on february 27th 2020 at Maison symphonique de Montréal

A recital at the 2020 Virée classique

The Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel : residency at the Chapel during the 2020-21 season. This prize is generously offered with the support of Mrs. Maria Gusti

The Orford Music Prize: a recital at Orford Music presented in 2020

The Orchestra of the Americas Prize: Concert Tour during the summer of 2020. This prize is generously offered with the support of the Ariane Riou and Réal Plourde Foundation

The National Arts Centre Prize:  a concert at the NACC as a part of the 2020-2021 season

The Northern Arts and Cultural Centre Prize: a recital in Yellowknife, Northern Territories, as part of the 2021-2022 season

The Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra Prize : a concert in St. John’s, Newfoundland, as part of the 2019-2020 NSO season

Michèle-Paré Prize: a $5,000 prize to support the development of a professional career in music.

 

The first prizes:

A $10,000 Scholarship, awarded in each of the categories (one of them included in the Grand Prize)

The second prizes:

Strings, Class A category: A $5,000 V. E. Lambert scholarship, offered by the Lambert-Fortier-Gagnon Succession

Strings, Class B category: A $5,000 scholarship, offered by the Fondation Paul A. Fournier

The third prizes:

Strings, Class A category: A $2,500 scholarship, offered by Mrs. Barbara Bronfman

Strings, Class B category: the $2,500 Aline-Hector-Perrier, offered by the « Fonds Les Amis de l’Arts »

ICI Musique Prize : a professional recording in one of Radio-Canada’s studios and its broadcast on ICI Musique and ICI Musique Classique

Prize for the best interpretation of a Canadian work:

Strings, Class A category: A $2,500 scholarship, offered by the OSM Volunteers’ Association

Strings, Class B category: A $2,500 scholarship, offered by Mrs. Juliana Pleines

Stingray Rising Stars Award - Public's Choice :

A $2,500 cash prize offered to the finalist who  will get the most votes on the web at Maison symphonique during the final round

The other prizes:

1-The Aspen Music Festival and School Prize:
a scholarship for an eight-week program during the summer 2020, including housing and tuition fees, offered thanks to the support of the Ariane Riou & Réal Plourde Foundation

2-The Banff Centre Prize:
scholarships covering tuition and accommodation for a three-week advanced music program in the Music and Sound Department at the Banff Centre in 2020

3-The Orford Music Prize:
scholarships covering tuition and accommodation for a two-week music session at Orford Music in 2020

4-The Domaine Forget Prize:
two scholarships covering tuition and accommodation for one week of advanced training program at Domaine Forget during 2020

5-The Schulich School of Music Prize:
three scholarships covering complete tuition for a program of performance at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music (offered to first prize winners)

6– Particpation prize offered by the OSM Musicians’ Association
