The OSM and Ariane Moffatt bring singing to Quebec schools

The OSM is proud to be partnering this year with Culture pour tous on the project Une chanson à l’école. This inclusive initiative enables children in primary schools across Quebec to discover an original song written especially for them. This year features Ariane Moffatt’s Ensemble, sensibles, a rhythm-filled, upbeat and cheerful song which she performs with the OSM.

To kick off the school year, Ensemble, sensibles will travel across the province with the goal of bringing hope to all the young people dealing with these difficult times. The schools and teachers participating in the project will receive soundtracks, choreography suggestions, as well as a pedagogical guide for harnessing all the joyful potential contained in this song filled with symphonic sounds.

As Madeleine Careau has remarked: “This magnificent song is a way for students to experience togetherness again, as they did before, while looking toward the future. The Orchestra has always reached out to young people through its mission of education and accessibility; it is therefore truly a pleasure for us to be part of this unifying project.” Ensemble, sensibles was recorded at the Maison symphonique with Ariane Moffatt and the OSM under the direction of Thomas Le Duc-Moreau, on April 21.
