Come hear this talk hosted by a musicologist and discover the work of Austrian composer and conductor Gustav Mahler. Learn about the symbolism and themes of Mahler’s Symphony no. 1, “Titan” and Symphony no. 7, “Song of the Night.” The OSM and Rafael Payare perform these works as part of their complete cycle of Mahler’s symphonies, a monumental endeavour spanning several seasons.

Step into the shoes of a conductor with the immersive virtual reality experience Partitura!
After choosing from a selection of works by Vivaldi, Dvořák and Ana Sokolović, you will find yourself on the podium of the Maison symphonique in front of a string orchestra of OSM musicians. Follow the score and use your virtual baton to spotlight different sections of the orchestra and listen closer to their unique sonorities.
Partitura provides a rare opportunity to demystify the role of the conductor and explore the language of classical music!
