Flutist Arin Sarkissian won the OSM Competition in 2020 at the age of 21 — Mozart was the same age when he composed his Flute Quartet no. 1, a gem of the style galant. Preceding this work, audience members will have the chance to discover two pieces for strings, including a Trio by American composer and missionary in Egypt John Antes, written around 1780 while he was recovering after being captured, then released by Ottoman adherents. The piece by Jean-Pierre Guignon, meanwhile, features a masterful version for two violins of the famous tune from Les Sauvages by Jean-Philippe Rameau (titled in 1727), immortalized in his opera Les Indes galantes.
