Bernard Labadie has established himself worldwide as one of the preeminent conductors of the Baroque and Classical repertoire, a reputation closely tied to his work with Les Violons du Roy (for which he served as Music Director from its inception until 2014) and La Chapelle de Québec. With these two ensembles he has regularly toured Canada, the US and Europe, in major venues and festivals such as Carnegie Hall, David Geffen Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Kennedy Center, The Barbican, The Concertgebouw, and the Salzburg Festival, among others. He began a four-year term as Principal Conductor of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in the 2018-19 season.

Yves Jacques has worked with French Canadian director Denys Arcand on 5 films including The Decline of the American Empire, Jesus of Montreal and The Barbarian Invasions, along with French director Claude Miller with whom he worked on 7 films. His renown grew steadily through film and theatre in France and in Quebec. On stage, he has been touring worldwide for almost ten years with two Robert Lepage’s plays, The Far Side of the Moon and The Andersen Project. Other directors with whom Yves had the privilege to work include Xavier Dolan, Jean-Paul Rappenneau, Olivier Dahan as well as Martin Scorsese. Yves Jacques was appointed Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, in February 2001, and he is an Officer of the Order of Canada since 2009 for his achievements as an actor in theater, television and film, in Canada and abroad.
