For its Carnegie Hall appearance, the OSM presents a program brimming with profound emotion and orchestral fireworks. Both pianist Yefim Bronfman and the OSM’s musicians will demonstrate their virtuosity and technical prowess in Béla Bartók’s dazzling Piano Concerto No. 2, after which Maestro Rafael Payare will lead the Orchestra through an exploration of Gustav Mahler’s sweeping symphonic vision, encompassing immense tragedy and exuberant outpourings of triumph and jubilation in the Austrian composer’s celebrated Symphony No. 5.
