First Violins

Marie Lacasse began her musical studies at the piano, with her mother as a teacher. Soon after, she became intrigued by the violin and developed a genuine passion for the instrument! She joined the OSM in November 1997 and will always remember her first concert under the baton of Charles Dutoit.

Prizes and scholarships: Grand Prize winner of the OSM Competition, prize winner in the Concertino Praga International Competition and Governor General of Canada medal

Favourite works: The works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Beethoven, Brahms and Handel

Other interests: Interior decoration, giving a second life to antiques, running
