Sofia Gentile is a section violist with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. A member of the OSM since 2012, she earned a bachelor’s degree in performance from the Université de Montréal, followed by a master’s degree in performance from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University in Houston.
Among the reasons that inspired her to become a musician, Sofia mentions one particularly special moment: violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter’s performance of Beethoven’s Concerto during a concert with the OSM!
