Florence Troncy has more than 20 years of experience in the field of arts and culture, with a specialization in developing projects at the intersection of music and health. Since 2023, she has held the position of Executive Director of La SAMS (Society for Arts in Health Settings), after serving for eight years in leadership roles in development, partnerships, and philanthropy.
A province-wide organization, La SAMS is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of vulnerable individuals, seniors, and those in healthcare settings by offering professional musical activities tailored to their realities. This year, more than 1,500 performances will be presented across Quebec in hospitals, long-term care facilities, seniors’ residences, rehabilitation centers, palliative care units, and mental health institutes. In addition to its concerts and bedside musical visits, La SAMS has recently established choirs for people with aphasia or Alzheimer’s, as well as live online musical events to reach seniors at home.
Committed to cultural accessibility and to recognizing the impact of music on physical, mental, and social health, Florence Troncy champions a deeply human approach, where music becomes a vehicle for connection, comfort, and dignity.
