
Denys Derome
Denys Derome is the Associate Principal Horn of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal since 2000. Before joining the OSM, he served as principal horn with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, the Canadian Chamber Ensemble and the Orchestre symphonique de Québec. Denys studied horn at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal and with John Zirbel at McGill University. He won first prize at the National Music Festival Competition and First Prize at the OSM Competition. As a soloist, he has performed with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, the Victoria Symphony and the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony. A dedicated teacher, Denys has a studio at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University. He enjoys chamber music collaborations and can regularly be heard in projects with his colleagues from the OSM and McGill University.
