Edward Wingell
Edward Wingell has been a double bassist in the string section of the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal since 1999. He began his musical journey as a member of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra from 1983 to 1985 and later pursued his education at the University of Toronto studying with Thomas Monohan where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance. In 1991 he joined the Windsor Symphony and received the Pauline Higgins Award, and soon after left for sunnier climes to become a member of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Tenerife from 1992 to 1998. During this time a summer was spent in London studying with Thomas Martin. His hobbies include skiing, cycling, golf, barbecuing and a friendly game of poker!
