
Julien Siino
Julien Siino is a section cellist with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. A member of the OSM since 2024, he studied cello at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec, the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, and the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris. Named in CBC’s “Classical 30 under 30,” he has won First Prizes at the Canada Music Competition, the Agustin Aponte International Competition (Spain), and the Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition (Canada). He has performed with several ensembles, including Les Violons du Roy, the Orchestre symphonique de Québec, the Dutch National Opera, the Paris National Opera, and the Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France. He was artist-in-residence at the Philippe Jaroussky Music Academy and the Paris National Opera Academy. He also held the positions of Associate Cello with the Opéra-Orchestre national Montpellier (France) and Associate Principal Cello with the Orchestre Métropolitain. He plays a Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume cello with a Jules Fétique bow, generously loaned by Canimex.
Several people inspired Julien to pursue a career in music. First and foremost, his parents. Another major influence was the legendary cellist Yo-Yo Ma!
