Marianne Dugal
Marianne Dugal holds the position of Associate Principal Second Violin in the first violin section of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. A member of the OSM since 1999, she studied at the Conservatoires de musique de Montréal and Chicoutimi, as well as at the Harid Conservatory. She is a recipient of the First Prize from the American Society of Arts and Letters and the Second Prize at the OSM Competition (1994).
Passionate about orchestral music, Marianne decided early on to make the violin her personal challenge. However, what truly inspired her to pursue a career in music were the OSM’s recordings, particularly those conducted by Charles Dutoit. Beyond her love for the violin, Marianne is an avid walker and a passionate reader. She also plays the organ!
