
Peter Rosenfeld
Double bassist Peter Rosenfeld was born in Montreal and grew up in Boston. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in history at Williams College, he earned a Master’s in Music from the Juilliard School, where he studied with Tim Cobb. In 2007, while pursuing an Artist Diploma at Yale University School of Music as a student of Donald Palma, he took on his current position in the bass section of l’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal. Rosenfeld was formerly a member of the New Haven Symphony. He has performed with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, The Knights Chamber Orchestra, American Contemporary Music Ensemble, and Silk Road Ensemble. Prior to joining the OSM, Rosenfeld was founding bassist of Now Ensemble, a quintet devoted to commissioning and performing new music by living composers.
