Scott Feltham
Scott Feltham is a double bassist in the string section of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. A member of the OSM since 1999, he earned a Bachelor of Music from McGill University. In 1991, he received the Senior Star Award from the Kiwanis Music Festival of Halifax. In addition to his orchestral career, he teaches at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music.
A true one-man band, Scott first learned piano at the age of four, then took up the double bass at ten, the tuba at twelve, the trombone at thirteen, and finally the organ at seventeen. And that’s not to mention a lifelong passion for singing in choirs! His decision to become a professional musician, however, was sparked when he moved from Edmonton to Halifax at the age of sixteen. Amid all the changes that such an event brings, one constant revealed itself: his love for music and its benefits for his mental and spiritual well-being. From that moment on, his musical path was clear!
