
Peter Rosenfeld
Double bassist Peter Rosenfeld was born in Montreal and grew up in Boston. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in history at Williams College, he earned a Master’s in Music from the Juilliard School, where he studied with Tim Cobb. In 2007, while pursuing an Artist Diploma at Yale University School of Music as a student of Donald Palma, he won his current position in the bass section of l’Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal. Rosenfeld was formerly a member of the New Haven Symphony. He has performed with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, and The Knights Chamber Orchestra. Prior to joining the OSM, Rosenfeld was founding bassist of Now Ensemble, a quintet devoted to commissioning and performing new music by living composers.
