This summer, the OSM is back in grand style with a program as daring as it is diverse. The beginning of the summer will be marked by the 10th edition of La Virée classique, which will kick off with a free concert at the Olympic Stadium. A magnificent program of 26 concerts and over a hundred free activities will be offered for this 10th edition. The Orchestra pursues a hallowed tradition of performing at the Festival de Lanaudière – this year, four concerts under the direction of Rafael Payare. The summer also heralds the return of the Orchestra’s large-scale outdoor musical gatherings: OSM in the Parks Sirius XM. All in all, your Orchestra has a multitude of not-to-be-missed activities and concerts in store to provide ideal opportunities for sharing wonderful moments with family and friends!

Once again this year, the OSM will set up its tent in the parks of Montreal, Blainville, Brossard and Terrebonne to offer all communities evenings of the most beautiful classical music. The Orchestra will enchant young and old alike and invite you to relax and dream to the sound of the clarinet and saxophone of André Moisan and the luminous voice of Suzanne Taffot. For one evening, you will take a musical journey, punctuated by dance, from the United States to Europe with a foray into the Caribbean.

LUCIA
Lucia invites the general public to take part in a story simply by turning the cranks of a giant music box. This work of public art illuminates’ common spaces and shows the beauty of everyday life. Through orchestral melodies composed for the occasion by Maxime Goulet and performed by the OSM under the direction of Dina Gilbert, Lucia tells a story that links the past to the present through the bonds that are created between the people who take part in the experience. A powerful tribute to our cultural heritage, magnified by an artistic and contemporary multimedia approach, Lucia is another tale of wonder typical of the In Bocca al Lupo series imagined by Mirari and Anne Lagacé.
Lucia will come to life from August 18 to September 18 in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles and invites passers-by to discover this unique interactive work.
