Schumann’s Piano Concerto performed by the celebrated Daniil Trifonov and Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique are on the programme of this concert conducted by Rafael Payare.
Renowned pianist Daniil Trifonov returns to the Maison symphonique in a performance of Schumann’s eloquent and passionate Piano Concerto, written for his wife Clara. Berlioz similarly dedicated his Symphonie fantastique to Harriet Smithson, with whom he was hopelessly smitten. With potent expressive power and boundless inspiration, he imparts, through the orchestra, his anguish and his romantic longing.
