Festival de Lanaudière – From Carmen to Gershwin: Invitations to a journey Summer 2026

For the return of the great pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet to the Amphitheatre stage, a concerto is in order: Saint-Saëns’s celebrated Fifth, known as the “Egyptian,” of which he is today one of the foremost interpreters. The OSM and guest conductor Stéphane Denève join him in a program that brings together the abundant inventiveness and exotic flair of Gershwin with the most famous pages from Bizet’s opera Carmen, where music gives full theatrical voice to passion, seduction, and fate.
