Richard Strauss: Symphonic Imagination
2026-2027Between brilliance and fantasy, this program immerses us in the heart of Richard Strauss’s heroic world. Don Juan unfolds with passionate sweep and virtuosic brilliance, soon joined by the mischievous antics of Till Eulenspiegel, where Strauss paints the escapades of his infamous trickster with humor and panache. In the second half, Don Quixote brings a deeper emotional resonance: under Alisa Weilerstein’s cello, the idealistic hero of Cervantes comes alive with nuance, longing, and disarming humanity, guided by Rafael Payare’s inspired direction.
A large-scale masterpiece where the full power of the orchestra delivers a truly breathtaking experience.
