
Geneviève Guimond
A graduate of the Juilliard School and a member of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal since 2017, Montreal-born cellist Geneviève Guimond performed as a soloist with I Musici de Montréal at the age of ten. Winner of the Grand Prize at the Montreal Classical Music Festival (2000), she went on to claim First Prize at the Canadian Music Competition (2005) and the National Music Festival (2007). During the 2014–2015 season, she served as principal cellist and artist-in-residence with the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra. She studied under renowned teachers including Yuli Turovsky, Richard Aaron, and Hans Hørgen Jensen. Guimond also co-founded the Montreal Cello Ensemble, where she has been teaching for six years as part of a program that provides free instruments and lessons to children in the Montreal area.
